The pandemic has caused a significant shift in how people consume content, with the increasing popularity of OTT platforms. Many individuals now prefer waiting for movies to become available on these platforms rather than going to a theater. Sri Crazyminds, speaking to Bangalore Times after a film editing session at the Bengaluru International Short Film Festival (BISFF), noted that the abundance of content on mobile devices post-lockdown has played a role in this change. According to him, people's attention spans have decreased to just twenty seconds, making it challenging to motivate them to leave the comfort of their homes to watch a movie in theaters.

He emphasized that compelling content is crucial for attracting audiences to the big screen, highlighting the importance of strong storytelling and engaging trailers. Sri Crazyminds also pointed out the significant financial investment required to release a film successfully in today's competitive landscape. He noted that the abundance of choices available to viewers can lead to confusion and added that the quality of content plays a crucial role in the success of films, citing the success of Malayalam cinema as an example of content-driven success.Approximately 400 movies are submitted to the censor board for approval, but only around 200 of them actually make it to theaters for release. I believe that all these factors contribute to the core of the issue.
